Touch of Blue
January 2010 issue of San Diego Home/Garden Lifestyles Photography by Larny J. Mack
This handsome new master bathroom in a historic Craftsman house in Point Loma "complements but does not copy the original structure," says Architect Ione R. Stiegler, who designed it. "It's simple, but historically appropriate."
Features include his and her flanking cabinets, built-in medicine cabinet, traditional hex-and-dot flooring, subway tilewainscot, radiant towel warmer that's tied into the home's radiant heat system, and a hinged drop-downcabinet for additional countertop surface and access to electrical outlets.
The bath is part of a larger remodel, which included a new second-floor master suite with retreat, walk-in closet and ocean views.
